Troy Spurlin (Owner)
Troy attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Jacksonville University. After 4 years in Manhattan and 10 years in Los Angeles doing Set Design, Costuming, and the occasional Acting gig; at the age of thirty-five decided he had better take a “real” job. As luck would have it, Troy was at a cocktail party in L.A. and a job suddenly presented itself as an “Assistant” at Joe Nye Inc. (although Joe is prematurely and desperately missed - at that time he was one of America’s Top Designers). Under Joe’s tutelage, Troy was able to combine his skill in the art of Set Design and make it applicable to Home Decoration. In 2005, Troy was offered a position in Jacksonville as the Director of Marketing and Special Events for the newly formed Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville (MOCA). During his tenure at MOCA, Troy was re-doing homes throughout Jacksonville and having weekly phone calls with Joe Nye to help him develop the business plan for troy spurlin INTERIORS. In September 2007, troy spurlin INTERIORS opened its doors. Troy has served on the Dean's Council for the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of North Florida for the past three years and currently serves as chairmain for the 2016 - 2017 school year.
